I was born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised just north of there in Yazoo County. I enjoy traveling and have lived in Oklahoma, Texas, and Nova Scotia, Canada. I currently live and work in Northern Maine. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Art degree from Delta State University in Graphic Design and a Master's Degree in 2D Art from Mississippi College.

Creativity has always been my outlet. The ability to create is all around us! From painting and illustrating... to sewing and basket weaving.  I love it all.

My first illustrated work was a story based off an interview my great-great grandmother gave the government about growing up in Indian Territory (now known as Oklahoma) in the late 1800s. She died in 1968. From there I created more books.  I hope to spark the love of reading in children everywhere with books I write and illustrate.
